Co-Design

In the course Manual and Computer-generated Imagery, students were paired with artisans in India to design a mini collection of textiles. I was paired with a carpet weaver named Prakash. Below you will find the final six designs digitally illustrated using Adobe Illustrator, the two designs that were woven by my partner Prakash, and a few of the hand drawn sketches that were sent between myself and my co-design partner.

Sergenian's

Sergenian's is a local Madison flooring company that has established a relationship with the Textiles and Fashion Design program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison by sponsoring a carpet design competition. Every fall semester, students in various textile design courses take a trip to the Sergenian's showroom. Here they are introduced to the company and given the prompt and theme for that semester. I participated in the Fall 2017 and Fall 2018 competitions.

Miscelaneous

These are some of my favorite projects of my undergraduate work. I enjoy removing myself from thinking strictly about the body and how to create new forms to cover the body. Textile design feels freeing because I get to create in ways that don't fit within my garment design style.
